SLD commonly refers to Second-Level Domain.
Using Prodigy.Net as an example, Prodigy is the SLD.
Since you are under .BC.CA, you might not be familiar people's
interest in having their "Brand" as the SLD.
Some hypothetical examples might be:
ABC.BIZ
CBS.BIZ
CNN.BIZ
MTV.BIZ
NBC.BIZ
The 5 companies above will probably not care what company or
companies are paid the $5 .BIZ registration fees each year. I would
also suspect they just want things to work. You seem to think there
is one .BIZ that works and another that does not work. When I
refer to the "Real .BIZ" I am referring to one that works, and that
*may* require a DUAL Registry $10 instead of just $5. The IPv4
market has to sort that out.
As for IPv6 .BIZ servers, I would also think the 5 hypothetical companies
above may be interested in protecting their valuable "brands" in
those servers. I have not seen any news on when those will be
deployed. If they are, they will likely use the 2002:<IPv4>:0000:0:212
Address Space to avoid collisions, and to be compatible with
IPv8 and IPv16.
The bottom line is that the 5 hypothetical companies above, will
likely want to stay at the leading edge of technology. There names
collectively make up the .BIZ Name Space. Their collective buying
power and buying habits will determine the future of .BIZ. There
is only one .BIZ, it is their .BIZ, the SLD.BIZ owner's .BIZ.
