No..You (or your customers) will not have to have a D&B number to get a
certificate. However, as a by-product of verification, if the cert-desirer
does not previously have a D&B number they will get one (the opt-insies and
opt-outsies of this have yet to be addressed -- so don't get fussed at this
point).

In fact, if all goes according to the presently indicated plan, There will
be no mandatory faxing of documentation or identification of D&B number for
companies that are already on record at D&B. You will identify which company
needs the certificate and D&B will call (i'm hoping this becomes 'e-mail')
the contact they have on record for the company to confirm that a
certificate has been ordered.

Again these details have yet to be worked out, but this is the present state
of thinking.

Fear not though... in no event will there will be an added step in getting a
D&B number.
