Hi all

I wanted to get some feedback on an idea that we have been playing with recently regarding .vc wholesale and retail pricing.

ICANN and Tucows have y completed all of the necessary steps to launch the product and we are currently evaluating some pricing and volume information that might be pertinant and subsequently are looking for your help.  In the best interest of the reseller community, we are migrating from RRP to EPP and as a result, the new expected launch date is March 2002.

While the initial pricing for .vc domains was expected to be approximately $30, it was also expected that .vc would have been launched earlier in 2001.  Since then, we have seen the advent and subsequent momentum of the new gTLDs, such as .info and .biz.  As a result, the industry is experiencing a relative dampening affect on the volume for the 'vanity' ccTLDs.

We are seriously considering a lower wholesale price for .vc domains of between $6-$10.  I am sending this out to obtain feedback on the following items:

1) The difference from a reseller perspective between the following wholesale prices for .vc: $6, $8, $10.
2) What impact does each of the above prices have on your business?  For example - would you expect to be able to sell significantly higher volumes at a $6 price v $8, and $8 v $10?
3) Overall reseller interest in this TLD with a reduced wholesale price and increased margin for resellers.  Would you be more compelled to offer this ccTLD at a reduced wholesale price?
4) Expected reseller volume for this TLD - just a ballpark please. (feel free to email me offline on this one)
5) Expected retail price for this TLD at the various reseller cost of $6, $8, and $10.  Would you offer this at a retail price of $10? $15?

Any other feedback you could give with respect to .vc would be extremely helpful in terms of moving ahead.

I look forward to your feedback and some enlightening conversation...as always...
