1) The difference from
a reseller perspective between the following wholesale prices for .vc:
$6, $8, $10.
profit, profit,
profit? Its hard to be competitive in .com, .net, .org because of the
companies out their whose retale price starts at our sale price. Since
Tucows is the registry for VC maybe once we could have a competitive advantage
even if it is for a "vanity" domain.
2) What impact does each of the above prices have on your
business? For example - would you expect to be able to sell significantly
higher volumes at a $6 price v $8, and $8 v $10?
Anything sub
$10. I don't want Tucows to lose its own incentive...I don't know what you
have to pass on to St Vincent but go as low as you can, $6 means lower pricing
for my customers, higher margin for me, and more marketing dollars which
translates into more sales!
3) Overall reseller interest in this TLD with a
reduced wholesale price and increased margin for resellers. Would you be more compelled to offer this ccTLD
at a reduced wholesale price?
No...I would offer a
special promo price. It is a vanity domain and comes off like a .CC, etc
in terms of its "feel". I would offer it for a low promo/launch price to
make it attractive with an indefinite date for returning to its original BMW
pricing. (this makes this much more attractive to offer greater commisions
to affiliates for an affiliate program we are
launching).
4) Expected reseller volume for this TLD - just a ballpark please. (feel free to email me
offline on this one)
(offline on its way)
5) Expected retail price for this TLD at the various reseller cost of $6, $8, and $10. Would you offer this at a retail price of $10?
$15?
(offline on its
way)
