Whenever you query whois.cira.ca right now, it returns:
[whois.cira.ca] DBI->connect failed: ORA-12541: TNS:no listener (DBD ERROR: OCIServerAttach) at /www/docs/cira/CIRA/plsql.pm line 3839 Even the OpenSRS RWI returns: "Unable to grab contact info from CIRA." So what did we learn? - CIRA uses Oracle Database. Not that important - OpenSRS's .CA management becomes unavailable, and you cannot even lookup the domain information locally on the RWI when CIRA's whois is down. It is kind of a surprise. You would think we'd have a copy of the information instead of polling CIRA everytime we lookup a .CA domain in your profile via the RWI.
