There are Resellers out there that proide that service. OpenSRS has stated in the past that they do not wish to become involved in the transaction between the customer and the reseller.
They are clearly keeping their hands out of the resellers business. This is one MAJOR advantage of working with OpenSRS instead of one of the Registrars that would market other of their services to the end customer (eg Network Solutions / Go Daddy). In addition to supporting the SourceForge development project which has OpenSRS code complete with hooks for credit card billing, OpenSRS has been very supportive of my efforts in building an ecommerce capable client to distribute to OpenSRS resellers. Both Dennis Labmert and I have programs where you can host your OpenSRS clients on our respective servers, of you can purchase the modified code outright and place it on your server; and I am sure others can offer similar programs, and if you wish to keep your code up to date and not hire programmers this may be a very cost effective method of running your system. I have had numerous discussions with OpenSRS and the feeling that I get from them is that they want to devote their resources toward developing tools for resellers that can not easily be duplicated elsewhere. This makes absolute sense to me because the more tools I have available whether through OpenSRS of through a third party, the more competitive I can be with the competition whether it be enom, NSI, or godaddy. -Michael Brody [EMAIL PROTECTED] TLD Systems Inc. www.opensrs-sites.com development of software and tools to support OpenSRS resellers.
