Let me go ahead and set the record straight. Yes directNIC was
accredited in March of 2001. And yes we still have a few hundred
thousand domains in our resellers account with OpenSRS. But lets talk
about the transfer issue here.

Allan:
Clause number 6 of our transfer TOS reads as follows:
6. Transfer Fees.
Transferor hereby agrees to be bound by all domain name transfer fees in
conjunction with Our service. The fee for each domain name transfer is
US$15.00 payable by credit card. If Transferor's account with Us
contains sufficient directNIC dollars ("DND's"), fifteen (15) DND's will
be debited from Transferor's account for every domain name transfer.

-- This is talking about a transfer to directNIC not a transfer away
from directNIC. If you read the entire TOS, located at
http://www.directnic.com/legal/transfer.php, you will notice that it
does not mention one thing about you paying to transfer a domain away
from us. Who in there right mind would do that except for the "big"
domain registrar? I know that I have transferred many domains to
OpenSRS and now I transfer them to directNIC and if anybody would
require me to pay a registrar to leave them I would let the domain
expire. So no, there is no fee with transferring a domain away from
directNIC.

-- Now I guess the big question is whether your domain is with OpenSRS
as the registrar or directNIC as the registrar. I can tell you this,
that our transfer system is almost identical to the OpenSRS transfer
system. Have you approved the email from the OpenSRS system to the
admin email? Is the domain 60 days old? Has the domain already
expired? Since I have no idea what domains you are trying to transfer,
I have no way of helping you out.

Mike:
We have an auto-ack policy for transfers. Always have, Always will! So
we don't reject a transfer request for a domain registered with us
unless the admin contact tells us to reject a transfer. And looking at
the numbers right now that has happened about 4% of the time. So if you
have submitted a transfer for a domain away from directNIC and we are
the registrar not the reseller, the transfer should go through fine, if
you really own the domain.

Mark:
>Ha!, Yep, they got their acredidation. Too bad Tucows isn't watching
over their morality any more!

We don't need anybody to watch over our back. Allan, was just
misinformed. Plain and simple. But let's talk about why you are using
bestsrs on your site planet-nic.com? Is there any particular reason?
If you are having problems transferring a domain to register.com, that
is your problem! You are using them! Now there is a domain registrar
that you can never transfer a domain away from. Why not just use
network solutions and they can change your admin email address to
[EMAIL PROTECTED] for free.

If anybody has any questions, I will be more than happy to answer them
on the list or you can just send me an email.
