Actually, I'd rather see these concerns addressed in public, as I'm 
certainly interested in the answers.

Well, I asked a simple question earlier that hasn't yet been answered, 
but that anyone with even a cursory knowledge of the program should know 
the answer to: Has OpenSRS sold expired domains to a third party without 
going through resellers or the normal registry drop procesure? A simple 
yes or no will suffice for now.
