That's not the point.  And if you really don't see that, after all
that's been said, and can say that the above justifies the actions in
question, then it's probably not worth trying to explain it further to
you, as you've already made up your mind that you have no ethical
concerns in that situation.

Many of us (most seemingly) have an ethical issue with it.  And I
would bet the general public would too.  I know that in a post to the
DNSO GA list on this, the responses were negative, and definitely said
that if necessary, to prevent another registrar from attempting it in
the future, that a policy on deleted domains should be developed by
ICANN.  The only policy now is that the registrars much follow such a
policy if one is ever developed by ICANN.  I think that the time to do
that is probably now.
