Dear Vint,
Is that a lapsus calami? What Mr. Stuart Lynn - being a 1/500.000.000nth of
the Global Internet Community - may be interested in is of equal value as
the opinion of any other 1/500.000.000nth of the Global Internet Community.
Yours or mine, or any of the Internet Participants in CCs.

We can all accept that the Global Internet Community at large has not
entrusted the Staff - under the BoD control - in being interested in this
or in that, but in managing the IANA functions. These functions include the
IP management, the registration of the TLDs and the consistent development
of the naming plan. These roles are so mismanaged for years that it can
only be on purpose. Is that truly, as so many tell it only by JDRP's
influence and VRSN's decision, or do you also support it? Esther Dyson had
made her position clear about it.

Anyway, the situation now is such that only the activation of the IANA TLD
registration function, the containment of Real Names and Keywords into DNS
compatibility, a clear iDNs policy, a refusal of WLS, an abandon of the
contract policy and a respect of the bylaws by being fair and equal to all,
the aggregation of all the network communities like New.net and RFC 920
conforming opeen TLDs, a bold development of IPv6, etc. may at this stage
preserve the unity and the stability of the Internet.

This means we all see that you face an alternative. Because who you are.
And most probably only today, before everyone is back from Accra. By Lynn's
decision (I do hope you coordinated).

- either you take the lead and you commit here and now - as you committed
on the GA that the current @large Directors will stay seated until replaced
- that you will have the Staff to quickly present the necessary strategy to
address the world's and Govs' expectations as above,

- or by your silence in the very few coming days you transfer that lead to
the many ones who will address these expectations in their own separated ways.

Your response or your lack of response, the way you give it or dont give
it, are your decisions, but whatever they are, they will decide of the
future of the Internet, of the economy and of the world.
Every of us just see it. And pray for you to be right.

Jefsey
