Sergei is right, it only works without the protocol unless you use i-dns. That 
is because only without protocol it will be handed over to the 
IE/MSN/Realnames search. Also, it may not work if you changed the default 
Search options in Internet Options, Advanced.

One note about i-dns: it seems to work flawlessly and not producing any errors 
like other plugins are said to create (most notably the new.nit thing). 
However, if someone asked me I wouldn't recommend installing it. It changes 
some values in the registry and doesn't seem to correctly restore them to the 
old state when uninstalling i-dns. So I removed those few entries on our last 
win2k system and found that the system wasn't able to resolve after this. No 
method would help, not even over-installing. Finally I had to wipe it and put 
XP on.
