sounds dramatic, but where do you see more then the usual Tucows chaos ?
i expect they will pay damages to you customer, 
fix their software at DomainDirect within the next few months, and 
check for domains they have treated similarly in the last few months.

yes it is a pity that they fire employees that want to tackle 
the problems systematically, but their competition is still worse i guess...
