I think RSPs with questionable marketing practises put Tucows in a bit of a bind. I mean, an organization like DROA would raise bloody hell if Tucows pulled their plug. As long as an RSP isn't strictly doing anything ILLEGAL, Tucows has no easily defensible grounds to terminate their service. The fact that we have trouble with really aggressive marketing campaigns speaks well for all our karmas, but I'm pretty sure that cancelling service on an ethical concern that has not been translated into law would be about most expensive for Tucows to defend in court, if it came to that. If I were Tucows, my response to this issue would be to put the folks at domainsupportgroup.net on a list of RSPs who get no second chances. If it IS demonstrated that they engage in prosecutably deceptive marketing, or they violate Tucows' AUP in any other clear way, Tucows will probably turf 'em. And until that happens, they're almost as helpless as we are. Of course, if helpful individuals on this mailing list wanted to sign up domainsupportgroup.net to every FFA page on the planet, using their sales and support email addresses as contact emails, I'm sure that would be an appropriate "thank-you" for all the Domain Support this Group are providing to all our customers.
