Have a look at the policy.  Or rather, the RAA.  The registrar is bound
do populate their WHOIS database with *valid* data which can be used to
reach the domain holder.  Since GoDaddy is acting as a "proxy",
providing
their own contact information for the domain and forwarding postal mail
and email to the domain holder.  As long as they do what they say, and
forward all communication intended for the domain holder, I don't think
they're breaking any rules.

We've been doing something really similar for just the email addresses
for some time now; http://www.it.ca/services/addressprivacy has details.
I set that up in early 2001 in response to customer complaints about
spam.  Personally, I think GoDaddy's warnings about identity theft are a
load of sensationalist hooey, but everybody has their own comfort zone.
