Same as .info actually :( EPP (Extensible Provisioning Protocol, something like that) allows for Auth Codes to be associated with Objects. In practical terms, this means there's a registry level password on a domain name. This is created randomly by OpenSRS, and is modifiable (and viewable) via the Manage interface (or through the RWI).
All the newer registries use EPP (.info, .biz, .name, .us) and employ an AuthCode model. It's supposed to be more accurate for an end user to authenticate with a piece of information held at the registry than by trusting the registrars in place. They can get it from the Manage interface under "Domain Extras" Charles Daminato TUCOWS Product Manager [EMAIL PROTECTED] On Sat, 28 Sep 2002, Robert wrote: > A company that one of our users is transferring to - transferring their BIZ domain, >is asking for an Authorization Code. > What are they talking about ? > > thanks > Robert
