This MAY have changed, but some banks USED to certify customers signatures,
at least in the U.S. for FREE!  

This way the customer can have this done while at the bank for other reasons
for NOTHING!  

The Banks verification should be AT LEAST as good as a notary, although
some had notaries as well.  ALSO, some companies, like mail boxes etc. might
do this as a courtesy.  They USUALLY charge, but if you have been a good
customer, and ask nicely, they may do it.
