Just to offer an alternative view:

If see someone walking down the street wearing a mask, and it isn't Oct
31, I call the cops.

If someone is trying to hide their identity on the net, I assume they are up
to no good.  We started life as a 'real name' only BBS that voice-verified
all accounts and continue that policy today.

The only way I could see having domains where owner information wasn't
available would be if there was some sort of flag to show that the domain
either had valid info or didn't, so I could block all access from
non-validated domains.

Handles are for the '1337'[1] crowd.  That was high school almost 20 years
ago. Now I want to know who I'm doing business with.


[1]  that's 'leet' as in elite.
