Why would a registry-imposed scheduled maintenance window affect the
test environment and not the LIVE one? Are OTHER registrars' test
environments also affected by this? What about other systems, like
internal email and trouble ticketing? If the registry can impose a
maintenance window that takes down services that don't even connect
to the registry, then I'm more confused than I thought I was.
Horizon talks to the OT&E environments of the various registrars. When
they take them offline, we have to take Horizon down. I didn't read the
Verisign notice, but I'm guessing that they are taking the OT&E down to
re-fit it for something IDN related...
Or is this just another result of two days of caffeine abstinence?
