this is an icann legacy.

but just curious - are these people registering ??.us two letter domain
addresses? some of them conflict.

according to the ftc http://www.ftc.gov/ theres nothing they can do
because they advertise their own domain system or plug in. this is
consistent with icanns position on alternative roots and its intentional
rationalization of the its own .biz collission. we have not yet heard the
end of that one folks.

for years i've been warning the community that icanns actions would result
in the namespace being reduced to island communities. we had our own
fight with one thomas goolnik who also attempted to sell .god along with
another fake .usa. after icann duplicated .biz these twits simply played
the game - some beter then others. some better then others - we were
instrumental at .god in using the ftc to put goolnik in his place. and
the only tld with registered intellectual property rights in a top level
domain to use international law to force goolnik to end his infringement.

but there's no easy task here - as icann falls apart - were going to see
more of this.

i'm now conformtable in saying that the only system which will survive is
the inclusive namespace. it's the only system that is easy to expand tld
space and in which everyone has an opportunity to participate.

icann is now on a collission course with governments world wide. they are
attempting to find cover while the spooks hoover around f.root-server.
pure entertainment folks.
