It's a promo. If they're willing to lose money for promotional purposes, there's little difference between losing, say $3 (if they could negotiate an $8 price) and losing $5.
A couple of sleazy things I notice: 1. There's no mention of it being a promo, nor any mention of what the regular pricing is or will be. You think they'll be selling $5 registrations indefinitely? 2. New registrations are for a max of one year (minimizes the damage, eh?). 3. There's no bulk transfer. (see #2) 4. They charge tax(?). Anyone else in the US charging taxes on domain registrations? Do you think RackShack will be remitting that tax to the proper state treasuries? Oh well, Tucows can't pick and choose their customers, can they? ----- Original Message ----- From: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Tuesday, August 19, 2003 4:16 PM Subject: $5 RackShack Domains > Well RackShack must have made a deal with OpenSRS to be able to get pricing > low enough (still losing money) to sell domains at $5 /yr. > > <https://domains.rackshack.net> https://domains.rackshack.net > > Ryan
