Do anyone else get the feeling that the days of profitably being a domain
registrar's reseller are quickly fading? The "Auth Code? What?" thread with
the simple plea of

"I really cannot justify working for free, which is what this
equates to. To spend my time helping someone pay someone else money?"

rings particularly true.

Margins at this point are so miniscule that any manual intervention in a
registrar transfer of a domain name - in or out - makes all profit disappear.
And the same time this process becomes increasingly more difficult and time
consuming. There a now several _hundred_ accredited domain registrars
selling directly to domain purchasers, some with and some without
resellers/affiliates. Many of the most popular registrars sell domains below
Tucows wholesale price to their resellers.

I can't help but wonder if the whole idea of profitably reselling domain
names has become a thing of the past with the new registrar landscape.
