Well. It's a _rebate_, isn't it? We are not getting .info-s for $1 - instead, for every 10 pieces of .info registered we get "free" credit for 9 other domains.
Just don't think .info costs $1 now. :-) It's a promotion, that's all. If we would really be getting and selling .info for $1, we [I mean: all resellers] could maybe get a million(?) new registrations in a few months or so. But will those registrants who go for this low price pay the renewal fee after 1 year?

That seems to be a better deal, because it lowers upfront expense. I would go for that.

matter, unfortunately the registry's 25 domain per profile rule throws a
rather large wrench in the works. Especially with resellers who manage a
very large number of domains using 1 profile (for whois privacy services
etc.)
This promotion is a great opportunity for reseller and I'd like to make it
attractive to our channel, so we'll see what we can do to our pricing system
to turn things around.
Either that, or run the process that issues the refunds every 24 hours, or every week or something, rather then waiting several months to refund the money.
