well, quite frankly, I have a bunch of names to auction off, but ebay
buyers are the pits. If they can do this, I would like to know how much
we would get back.

I'd have to agree with the analysis above. If the names drop, then this
would be just another take on the secondary market. The Tucows auction
service as well as the global objectives outlined in "Perfect
Information" (http://www.byte.org/blog/_archives/2004/9/3/135064.html)
are meant to explore the market for names that are about to expire but
haven't yet. Re-registrations, as you point out, are an entirely
different matter.
