AG, I've just confirmed: Gianluca's method causes the cursor to do what
you want, in OOo but not in LibO.
Believe me, it does so in LibO too. At least in Beta2, Italian, Windows
Vista HE SP3.
I've added my name in "User data", only.
However, you can also jump to last cursor position by pressing CTRL+F5
key
combination on your keyboard.
Thanks for the ctrl+F5 tip - wasn't aware of that. I've been using
ctrl+end.
FWIW, initial comments back from some people on the Debian list suggest
that in Squeeze (Deb testing) the cursor defaults to the start of the
document as well. Taken together with Aspinder's observation that this
also occurs on Fedora, it would seem that the issue only affects some
distros and not others, and may only be a GNU/Linux thing.
If any knowledgeable developer wants to me run any diagnostics, if they
can give me the relevant instructions I am happy to test it out.
