I'm going to second that. That really would be a great resource! If just the lot of us on this listserv start poking around for hard facts on the policies at our respective universities, that'd be a great start.

I'll go ahead and excuse my tone, which implies that every single person on this list is a student. Maybe that's not so. But close enough. ;)

It would be great if someone would start systematically finding out if 
universities restrict their students' access to their own work and 
documenting the results on e.g. wiki.freeculture.org so others can 
contribute to the search.

I think I've before wondered about having an archive of schools with 
particularly freedom-effacing IT policies.  Both would surely be useful!
