Last year when I did the work on osfclient I setup a development instance on my laptop following https://github.com/CenterForOpenScience/osf.io/blob/develop/README-docker-compose.md which worked pretty well, but I think there is some ways to go to get to a production level setup. Probably best to ask in an issue on their repository.
