Let's not forget that there is no official Linux version of GitHub
Desktop. Apart from other considerations, I think this is a decisive
factor for not using it.

Also, the git lesson specially benefits *a lot* from a good old
blackboard and incrementally drawing the git "schema" as the commands
are introduced. This is always in view and I refer to it all the time.
