Hi Kevin, this is just my opinion:: one reason not to add “Carpentries” in the subject line is to avoid making the prefix too long. Then we couldn’t easily see what’s the discussion about if we are skimming thru the emails by the subject line. Especially on small devices like phones. Many mailers are smart enough to sort out mails to different folders based on the destination (which can be helpful to maximize focus) – the discuss mails always have discuss@lists.carpentries.org<mailto:discuss@lists.carpentries.org> destination address. Perhaps for mailers to be smarter in giving visual cues, like colors (ok for those not colorblind), or tiny icons.
