This line of thinking would prevent the creation of things like compilers, make, etc. if it were allowed to be the driving force. *Enablement* of developers is its own value. Anyway, as you’ve not contributed code, nor has Coraid, to the illumos code base, the work I’ve been doing costs you nothing and only benefits you. So I really am not all that interested in this “no features no value” view point. If you want to create value & features, please go and build it. I *DO NOT* appreciate folks telling me that the work I’m doing is totally worthless. I’m sure you would not appreciate the same, if I said it about the work you do. After all, at least in this community, you’ve not created any new features or capabilities — though I *do* happen to know that the work you’ve done here has been helpful to many people in supporting ZFS. But you know, that’s not a marketable feature, either! - Garrett ------------------------------------------- illumos-discuss Archives: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/182180/=now RSS Feed: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/rss/182180/21175430-2e6923be Modify Your Subscription: https://www.listbox.com/member/?member_id=21175430&id_secret=21175430-6a77cda4 Powered by Listbox: http://www.listbox.com
