Hi Peter, In my interpretation, my take is not that only "intellectuals" can come up with a concept but rather depends on individual intellect of each designer.
The various experieces influence your design , but how much and what you learn from each experience differs from individual to individual . Also the diversity of experience of each individual is so varied. Thus the designer who is able to take all that experience and create a design and then be able to convey clearly why the design is good and explain or trace to the individual bits of experiences that led to that whole design depends on the individual intellect. My two cents ;P Regards, Jay Kumar On 2/19/08, Peter Boersma <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Dave, > > Are you referring to this bit: "How good of a designer we are [..] is > directly related to how well we convey our thought process [..] that you can > trace and one that is based on personal intellect"? > > I agree with the first bit (the idea that you have to be able to supply > arguments with your design, explaining why it is a good design) but not with > what I think is the second bit (the idea that only intellectuals can come up > with a concept?). > > But maybe I misread Tim... > > Peter > -- > Peter Boersma | Senior Interaction Designer | Info.nl > http://www.peterboersma.com/blog | http://www.info.nl > ________________________________________________________________ > Welcome to the Interaction Design Association (IxDA)! > To post to this list .......
