Can you say any more about what it is that you're trying to persuade
people about?
One approach would be a before-and-after test. There might be all
sorts of subtle psychometric tests that could be devised, but you
could just ask a propensity question on a scale before and after. Use
an alternative design for a control. e.g how likely is it that you
would do x from -3 to  3 (or whatever scale you want).
