Not true. Often the real problem is everyone sees the problem differently, so you're never really having the same conversation.

If you can get everyone to share the vision of the problem, then you can have (more) objective discussions about how different solutions solve or don't solve the problem. Collaborative whiteboarding, user modeling, and task analysis are good ways to get everyone on the same page.
