Hey All,

I am looking for advice/examples on how to word/or handle toggling a listener
on a document.

I am working on a document management web application and need a mechanism to
allow people to be notified when a document has been updated or removed. I
have a very limited budget and timeline so I am only going to run a handful
of people through a couple ideas.

This is an older application, AJAX is being newly introduced, so I feel like we
need to make sure that that is clear that the event has fired and been accepted.

An example of what we are thinking is a checkbox with the label "Notify me of
changes ". When clicked, making an ajax call, and when the server responds
highlighting the some text next to the checkbox that says something to the
effect of "You are now listening".
