Agile methodology sort of forces the "group" endeavor and since the company I am with is in the infant stages of adoption, it yet remains to be clarified how well the IxD/UX dept person's role will be carried out. From what I can tell though, I think "group collaboration" is an underlying theme to the SCRUM approach. The "groupieness" will not necessarily be interacting with a fellow "IxD-er" as I think you both are actually talking about, but it will mean participation in a group.
