@dave: I don't know if the statement, "I can't imagine a school worth going to in the US that wouldn't require them [GRE]" is completely true. Arizona State has a really great design school and their Masters in Interaction Design does not require the GRE. Of course, they do require a 3.0 GPA in undergraduate studies and a portfolio of work.
