I concur with Kent: I'll never use those services to store critical content on
a cloud-based storage service. They're convenient, to a point. But convenience
cannot trump security, especially if that's a major concern for you (it is for
me). Heck, I store sensitive content on my IronKey only AFTER I've encrypted it
with GPG. Perhaps that's a little much to some, but I like to hedge my bets.

One could argue that I could store encrypted content safely in the cloud, but
why give some 3rd party an opportunity to bang against my encrypted files,
trying to unlock them? No security is 100% certain (i.e. all cryptographic
mechanisms fail/get cracked at some point).

Your needs will dictate what trade-offs you can make (i.e. security vs.
convenience).

Subject: Re: [lopsa-discuss] Dropbox vs. Microsoft SkyDrive vs. Google Drive

The Google policy on their DRIVE service is enough to turn me off, at least for
now. I already have dropbox, and it satisfies my needs wonderfully.

Will I still end up using the google service? Sure, it may come in handy. But
I’m not putting my critical/important/private files there.
