I've had an O'Reilly shirt for Programming Perl, 2nd Edition, for years. Okay, okay, I have a lot of O'Reilly shirts (don't we all?), but this one is special.

For one, it's signed. I recall a party, with an ice sculpture of a camel, and the three authors sitting around (well, really standing, not sitting) and signing their names on shirts with sharpies. I'm not sure that Larry was there, and yet, his signature seems to be on the shirt, so he must have been, right? Unless, of course, it had been signed already (a possibility).

It's a nice relic of those days, but there's something about the shirt that has always bothered me, and I could never quite place what it was. It's taken me this long to realize that the book on the shirt is *pink*. Yes, that's what I said, not blue, pink. I no longer own a 2nd edition (Perl 5 was so very long ago), but I'm pretty sure that Perl books have always been blue.

Does anyone else remember this shirt? I know at least Tom is on the mailing list, and I thought that Randy was also. I've also considered giving it to the EFF to auction off (and may still do that), since it's never been worn (I just couldn't).
