The most useful thing that helped me was "Getting To Yes." I highly recommend it. It sells itself as a book of negotiation. In reality, it's a book of how to succeed at everything in your life. It does not teach you anything you don't already know. It teaches you to remember the important parts at the right time and situation. I read it once, and then read it again, jotting down a list of notes. From that point onward, for like 1-2 years, I trained myself, whenever encountering a difficult situation, or anything that makes me mad or any other emotion, or whenever I encounter *someone else* being apparently mad or emotional in any way, to remember to review my notes, and think the right way at the right time. It immediately accelerated my career, and I recommended it to my brother, who did the same and almost immediately got a promotion, and he gave credit to the book. There is a current third edition. I have the second edition hardcover: http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/getting-to-yes-roger-fisher/1100156587?ean=9780395631249 _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list [email protected] https://lists.lopsa.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/discuss This list provided by the League of Professional System Administrators http://lopsa.org/
