One of our electrical bills came in and caused a bit of an issue with
the owner, Marvin - it was $2500 and they are assuming a very large
portion of that is our floor. They are upset that it is high.

The reality is that they don't understand the bill, and there are a
lot of misconceptions of what we do up here. Marvin complained that he
leased us the space as offices, not as manufacturing (this is
frivolous as he's making his own distinction on this and our lease
says nothing to this effect) and that we're running heavy equipment up
here 24/7. Mike Legary gave a rough estimate of our power consumption
at max $750/mo. - nowhere near this bill. Mike and I are meeting with
Marvin next Tuesday to clarify this issue.

One thing that we need to do to make sure this situation does not
occur is to be mindful of our power consumption in the space - I don't
mean we need to cut back, but we have to understand that whatever we
do costs money and we are responsible for ensuring that our costs
don't skyrocket - otherwise the landlord WILL come back to us again.
There is a misconception that AssentWorks draws a lot of power and it
"must be them because of all that machinery" - in reality most of
their machinery is only running for an hour a day, and SkullSpace
actually uses more power than AssentWorks (the server room is probably
costing us around $300/mo. to run). We can no longer be of the opinion
that "since we don't pay for power, we can leave whatever we want
running."

Over the next few months our power situation will be transforming (pun
intended) and our usage will change - but we will be responsible about
this and everything will work out!

Thanks,
Justin
