Please bear with me on this idea...

I bought a house a couple years ago with the intent of
rewiring the whole thing. I've started down this road,
but the house has dictated that it wants all of it's
thermostats replaced.

Having this stumbling block put before me has caused
me to think about a really crazy integration idea -
I was wondering if I could use a squeezebox, with a
modified temp sensor, to somehow control my HVAC
system? I have some X-10 devices around the house,
so I looked into X-10 HVAC panels and have come up
with a few, but they are more than a squeezebox.

Felix's recent post about something totally unrelated
caused me to go looking around his website. After
seeing the temp sensor he hacked up to connect
through the geek connector started me thinking
about this option.

If I could mount a squeezebox in the wall in place of
my thermostats, that would be totally awesome.

Any ideas? Am I trying to kill a fly with a sledgehammer?

Thanks,
Paul
