Tried a reset? That has always fixed any lockup I've had (maybe 2 or 3 in it's lifetime). Note - those are software lockups, nothing to do with the disk. If the disk is b0rked, the standard advice it to smack it to unstick the head. Never happened to me though, so I can't comment. IMHO flac makes no sense in such a player. AFAIK those smaller players tend to use hardware decoders (rather than embedded processors), to save costs, space and battery life. I would be surprised if any of those support flac yet.
