Tried a reset? That has always fixed any lockup I've had (maybe 2 or 3
in it's lifetime). Note - those are software lockups, nothing to do
with the disk. If the disk is b0rked, the standard advice it to smack
it to unstick the head. Never happened to me though, so I can't
comment. Always try the reset first :)

To be fair all of their more recent players have been in the iPod mini
category - i.e. ~5gb disks. IMHO flac makes no sense in such a player.
AFAIK those smaller players tend to use hardware decoders (rather than
embedded processors), to save costs, space and battery life. I would be
surprised if any of those support flac yet. 

We can only wait for the Karma's replacement, and assume it will
support at least the same formats as the current model.
