This is just the solution I was looking for. Unfortunately earlier today I went out and bought a 300gb Maxtor One Touch as all the existing NAS products did not suffice.
Thoughts: Obviously I'd prefer it if it was cheaper. For me the 400gb drive would be the one, and I would expect to be able to back up the content to a PC across my wireless network at night (I am Windows based and currently use MirrorFolder for backups). However if I couldn'd install software on the NAS then it looks as if I might have a problem. Does it come installed with Samba? If not... how am I to see it on my Windows network and back it up? I'd also be interested to know what the projected price of the 400gb device is... I imagine it would not be too much more than the 120gb price (here's hoping)? The other thing is... for my requirements it would have to be very quiet. Currently I would be forced to situate it in my lounge.... :-( And, as has been mentioned, how would I upgrade Slimserver (bearing in mind I do not eat, breathe and dream Linux)?
