Is it getting stuck on similar tracks? same drive location, etc? can you turn on d_source debug flag and then look at the log when you try to play a track? What you will see is the server looking for a valid playback command (in case of transcoding), then the "track start event", which indicates the point in time where the hardware should start producing audio.
