If you have ARTIST=Various Artists for all tracks, and they are not also tagged as a compilation, then that would be correct, and I would expect the "Various Artists" to appear under "V" in the Browse Artists list. If they were also tagged as part of a compilation (which I tried), then "Various Artists" would not appear in the Browse Artists list under "V" unless that artist also has other non-compilation albums, because artists on a compilation album are not listed when "Group compilation albums together" setting is selected. Nb. Whilst playing, I also noted that if you configure an alternative name for the special "Various Artists", say "Compilations", then you get a "Compilations" artist at the top of the Browse Artists list, but as this is the album artist for each album that is a compilation, when you Browse Albums sorted by artist, the albums appear as "<album name> by Compilations", which isn't too nice.
