Hi Pippin,

I think it's interesting to see the different ways people solve
problems. I personally like the "I've selected something, now what
should I do with it?" popup menu in Squidgy because someone can easily
pick it up and use it as a remote without having to understand how it
works.

The problem with "modes" in iPeng it that you need to understand what
the modes do before you can use it. Modes are good for experienced
users but a hurdle for new users. It doesn't help that the icons aren't
that obvious, well + and > are OK but >| didn't mean much to me until I
read help. My wife wouldn't be able to figure out the modal operation
of iPeng on her own but she would be able to use Squidgy. I think you
should consider making modal behaviour an option that users could turn
on but make the default behaviour easier for new users.

Also, in iPeng and Squeemote, how do you play Random Songs?

Regards, Steve.
