volume at 100% in SqueezeCenter and use the remote on my amp to control
the volume.  

I ran into the same issue using the iPeng plug-in, before I found out
about the ability to pin the volume.  Since the control on my iTouch
was so flaky, I was concerned I would accidentally push the volume to
100 and blow my speakers.
