Interesting... I had the same "bump" (though more like a Thump) problem with my SB3, attached to an Arcam Delta 290 amp. The amp is about 16 years old now, so I wonder whether its input balancing circuitry could be showing its age? (It had a service a few years ago, when the source switch started to get unreliable and crackly, but that pre-dates even the SB3.) I didn't worry too much about it, and just got into the habit of turning down the amp volume before switching.
However, when I got a Receiver last year, no more bump. And no bump with the Transporter either.
