swedela, I had the same problem on my linux machine. after renameing all files with non us character, every thing working fine. just leave the id3tag as they are - only filnames has to be renamed. if you have a lot of files, then maybe a good tager is helpful for doing the whole staff in once (my suggestion is http://www.mp3tag.de/en/index.html).

cheers

Hi,

I've read the postings regarding FLAC tags and international
characters, but I'm having a slightly different problem

I ripped a CD by the Brazilian artist Djavan, and several of the MP3
files have accented characters in the file names. When SlimServer
rescans the library, it doesn't list these files, only the MP3 files
that only have "US ASCII" characters in them.

Here are a listing of the file names:
01 Um Amor Puro 02 Eu Te Devoro 03 Lilás 04 Acelerou 05 Álibi 06 Esquinas 07 Se 08 Boa Noite 09 Fato Consumado 10 Faltando Um Pedaço 11 Pétala 12 Meu Bem- Querer 13 Cigano
Only songs 1, 2, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 12 and 13 show in my SlimServer
library.

Is this an inherent limitation of SlimServer or is there something I
can change to make it work?

thanks
swedela
