Might be worth checking the privileges that SqueezeCenter is running under - on my Home Server (which is 2003/XP as near ), I am running 7.1 and in the Start menu I have an item called SqueezeCenter startup options where you can specify the login name and password.
Having said that, mine are blank, but SqueezeCenter is running as a servie for me; look at Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Computer Management - Services, find the SqueezeCenter service, right-click and check it out. Clutching at straws now - anybody else got any suggestions?
