There's also SqueezePlaay. Basically you need something that speaks
slimproto, which at this point is SoftSqueeze, SqueezePlay, and the SB
hardware players. Afaik it's an open protocol -- but only these two
software players have been developed. 

I'm curious: since you appear to want to control things from the media
pc, why not just use a software player like Winamp or foobar2000 to
play the files directly, rather than sending a stream from SC?
